We're truckin' now.

Since my last post, we have celebrated my twenty first birthday, received and assembled our new Big Agnes tent, and last but not least, purchased our incredibly beautiful Surly bicycles.

For my twenty first birthday, I branched out from my traditional Mackinaw City Michigan trip to head twelve hours south to Manchester, Tennessee for a four day, multi-stage camping festival called Bonnaroo. We had an incredible time and arrived home with new and exciting memories in our pockets.

Our Bonnaroo crew- my brother, Guy, myself, and Cons.
Horizontal license, baby!
Upon our return home, we were greeted happily by a slightly dented FedEx box containing our new Big Agnes tent. Dripping with excitement, we took it to the living room and unwrapped it. Assembly was a snap. We were extremely pleased with the weight, size, and overall look of the tent. Our Big Agnes copper spur UL 3 tent weighs in at an impressive 3lb 14oz which will make for easy packing within the precious amount of pannier space available. Although this tent is surprisingly light-weight, it offers an exceptionally comfortable amount of living space, but an important disclaimer to future Big Agnes tent purchasers, a two person tent, unless you're a sardine, is not nearly large enough to accommodate two people comfortably with sleeping pads and/or bags. Our three season, free standing new home also includes two easy access doors, a full rain fly, and plenty of space saving storage and vestibules.

Our welcome home gift.

We bought our bikes! I cannot express how remarkably helpful and kind the folks at Latitude 45 Bicycles and Fitness  have been. They have truly gone above and beyond our expectations of service, interest and support.  As for the bikes themselves, after logging a few practice miles, we will provide specifics on why we chose this model and all of the gear it will hold. We feel it appropriate to withhold any review until we become more familiar with our two-wheeled treasures.

Connor and I are so excited to share specifics about our purchases! We have plenty of items that are being shipped currently, and many to come. Once all of our goodies have arrived, we will share a full post on why we chose the items we did and how they have been performing thus far! Until then, keep an eye peeled for updates. Thanks for reading, friends!

Until next time,

Bea
